Customer FAQ
Carousel
Simple answer is no. But offer another solution:
We can add a GIF teasing the video you'd like to have on the carousel and link to a page with the video embedded. Do to accessiblity our websites do not support mp4 videos
turn on the Image Crop feature in backhead and see if this can solve the issue.
If not, suggest a photo that is Landscape in origin and in the largest format: safe bet would be 2000x800.
ENGAGE
No. The header image in Engage is attached to the logo you have uploaded in your Preferences. This is currently a request that is logged in Featured Requests for our product team.
ACCESSIBILITY
PDFS
The great news is that, with Streamline, you have access to convenient remediation option at $7 per page through our partnership with Allyant! You can request these remediations on your accessibility dashboard. Unfortunately, especially because of the influx of file remediation requests that Allyant is handling for their Colorado customers and Streamline customers alike, they cannot further expedite their turnaround time at this time.
Unfortunately, there is currently no way to use our accessibility scanner without uploading the files onto the site and impacting your score. This feature is still in beta, and our product team is actively working on it, so I can pass on this feedback to them and see if something like this might be possible in the future. We appreciate and encourage feedback on this feature, as it will help improve it for all Streamline customers.
As for your score being impacted by files, files do make up 20% of your overall accessibility score which is why it is impacting your site score on your dashboard. However, public-facing webpage accessibility is not impacted if the files are not on that page (or if they are and are vaulted). And, more good news is that with the new bill that passed at the end of April: HB24-1454 there is now a grace period. This updated bill states that you have to provide evidence that after July 2024 you are working towards getting your website to 100% accessibility. Stating that you're on Streamline and providing your Streamline dashboard reports showing improvement would suffice that good faith requirement even if not all of your files are accessible just yet. You also can vault documents (that are dated before July 1, 2024, and not required to be on the website by legislature/the compliance checklist). Streamline cannot vault documents on a district's behalf due to the liability of what the district and board would actually like to keep on the website. The vaulting/deleting of documents must be done by the district, board, or representation. However, this is a great way to remediate documents as they are requested rather than all at once!
PAGEVIEWS
Pageviews are a simple way to see how popular a page is, but sometimes the numbers can be higher than they really are. Our tool that counts views doesn't ignore any visits to the page. This means every time someone clicks on a page, it's counted as a view.
For example, if you visit the homepage, then go to another page, and come back to the homepage, the homepage gets counted twice. Also, we don't check where the views come from. So, if automated programs or bots visit the site, their visits are counted just like a person's visit, adding more views to each page they go to. This also applies to your site accessibility scans.
If you are interested in more detailed analytics about your site, we recommend setting up Google Analytics. Once you have set that up, you can send the header code to us to attach to your site. This will allow you to start gathering more detailed metrics about traffic on your site!
No. Only the last 6 months are available on the My Streamline tab.
If they are really cool you can run the following report and add up all page views in a month for them: https://production.getstreamline.net/blazer/queries/262-total-poc-visits-by-site-description
